Welcome to Debby's Personal Page
Thank you for hopefully supporting me in the 23rd Annual Hospice Memorial Walk in support of Hospice Buffalo.
Please consider walking with me and our team, the BLUEBOMBERS as we help honor the life of Bruce Williams at Canalside, downtown Buffalo, on Sunday, May 19, 2019 as we walk to keep Hospice care going in Erie County!
If you are not able to Walk, I hope you'll support my fundraising efforts by making a donation to my Walk page.
Hospice Buffalo provides exceptional care and life enhancing services for seriously ill patients and those who share their lives. Did you know? Hospice Buffalo provides comfort and care to more than 900 patients a day in homes, hospitals, nursing homes and at the Hospice Mitchell Campus in Cheektowaga.
My husband, Bruce was one of them. He had cancer in his larnyx. I had him at home in Hospice since the middle of this October and he fought. He fought so hard. Our Hospice team helped both of us with the biggest challenge of our 38 year marriage. On December 21, he was so weak that it was decided to take him to the facility where we spent the last few days together until God called to him on Christmas evening.
My whole life was turned upside down and I tried to keep a happy face at work and with friends and family while I was secretly trying to live with the grief of my partner, my best friend and the one person in my life who accepted me for being me. Yet again, Hospice came through to help me through grief sessions and let me know griefing was okay. That I was going to be okay. But it needs to be at my pace-not anybody else's.
Please consider donating in support of Bruce or a friend or loved one you know who had Hospice there for them toward the end of life. Bruce made such a difference in so many kids' lives with coaching soccer (KenTon Bluebombers) for so many years and that he so passionately loved. Or consider joining our team and walk with us! Thank you for those who have donated already and for those who will upon reading this. It is only 50 days a way- don't wait. Donate now and Thank you for your support!
